Meeting the McKinney Family

Kelsey booked a family photography session for during a vacation on Saint Simons Island. She wanted to incorporate a maternity session into their images plus the connection between herself, her son and husband. As Kelsey is due to have their second baby soon, we wanted to honor this special moment. We met near the Epworth By The Sea conference center and camp, on Saint Simons. Sun rays danced between the oak branches, a gentle sway in the hanging Spanish moss; the oak trees offering shade and relief in the mid morning heat.

Making room for Baby

I am a mother of two, and there's a bittersweet spot right before the new baby arrives. Holding and grasping at every little moment, holding onto your current baby. Dimpled hands hold your hand tight. Their squishy baby cheeks. Your own belly growing, less room on your lap for the first. Time moves slowly and suddenly, all at once. Will the relationship, the one you worked tirelessly over late nights, long days, diapers, laundry, firsts of all kinds... You find yourself wondering, "Can I love another one like I love my first born?" All the thoughts swirl in your brain and one day, you meet this new little person, somehow room is made, and your heart swells bigger and bigger until you feel it might burst! There is room and you didn't realize you were simply waiting all along to meet this person to complete your family.
